At the turn of the century, information on college hockey in the land of the maple leaf was researched and assembled for a feature in Total Hockey: The Official Encyclopedia of the NHL (Second Edition).

Without the help of Terry Bangen, Georgina Boux, Dr. Carl Buchanan, Yves Charron, Jacques Cyr, Laurent Fallon, Allan Ferchuk, Jack Kaplan, P.J. Michael Kennedy, Jim Large, June Lumsden, Tom Mauro, Pat O'Brien, Howie Parker and Carol Strauss, the undertaking would have fallen short.

Since then, information has been updated by Brian Stein who wrote the feature and co-ordinated the efforts of others. His involvement with college hockey dates back to 1981. He has assisted college hockey teams in various capacities such as supervisor of minor officials, scorekeeper, public address announcer, statistician and communications/public relations director. He has also taken time to assist national and international hockey tournaments. He continues to preserve the history and ensure the accomplishments of years gone by are remembered.

This site and its associated feeds on Twitter succeed a partnership with the ACAC hockey teams and coaches that resulted in many milestones including the establishment of the ACAC Hockey Information Guides and ACAC Hockey Weekly in 1994, the establishment of the ACAC Hockey Online website in 1998 (two years prior to a conference website), the establishment of ACAC Hockey Online's Player of the Week in 2009, the establishment of the @acacmens and @acacwomens feeds on Twitter in 2011 (eight months prior to a conference feed) and the acknowledgement of ACAC Hockey Online's 50 of the 50th in 2014 for men's hockey. The 2016 ACAC Men's & Women's Record Books based upon information compiled and reconciled in the spring of 2016 culminated the partnership's efforts.

Without the ongoing assistance, co-operation, support, respect and trust of the hockey coaches over 35 years of involvement in ACAC hockey, the aforementioned would not have been possible. A positive environment existed which provided a forum to relay ACAC hockey information.
